So here is something that has bothered me in the past. I don't know if it is a trope or not. If anyone here remembers the cartoon 'Undergrads' the main character (who looks like David Duchovny for some reason) is constantly trying to have a relationship with Kimmy who is always dressed modestly in a long skirt and jacket. Meanwhile Jessie is always wearing a crop top and flashing her midriff in Parker's face and basically throwing herself at him and he has no interest.
This also bothered my in Clone High where Abe is always trying to impress Cleopatra while Joan is clearly interested in Abe and she is the one showing navel.
I feel like there are probably other examples of this where the protagonist clearly doesn't share this fetish.
