Agency-Publishing is officially out of buisness as of the 31st of last December when the main guy behind it retired. The website is totally shut down, and all content outside of Deviant Art that was available for sale (this is the really crappy part) is now apparently gone forever! :o
Now I was not their biggest fan. As other members on this forum have pointed out in the past their tickle infatuation stories were not always the most friendly spirited but there were a couple stories, paticularly the more consentual lesbian tickling stories, that I was personally enjoying very much. The problem was that it was $15 an issue and I'm not exactly swimming money so I could only buy a little at a time and had spread it out. They had a 50% off going out of buisness sale in the last couple months that I was completely unaware of, (I only just found out about any of this today) and even if I had known I still don't think I would have had enough cash to get everything I wanted in time. :'(
The guy in charge of all of it (he was also the one in charge of making all those Tickle Town videos) was both sick of people pirating his content and wanting to move on to other things and I respect that, but I think he he went too far. He SHOULD have just put everything he had out there for free after the shutdown. He and his artists were no longer going to be able to profit in any way off it anymore reguardless.
Now bear in mind, there might be legit legal reasons why couldn't do that and to be honest I hope that's the case. The alternative is that it all belongs to him and he was like: "Well, I can't ever make any more money off of this stuff so I'm just gunna make sure no one else who didn't already pay for it ever has any kind of access to it whatsoever ever again! Because it's all MINE, and I can do that!" To be fair, if he really does own the rights to all the content, then he HAS every right to do that. None the less, it is still a selfish choice. He's not going to be able to do anything more with any of it so it SHOULD go to the fans! >:(
It's just like Spill.com. Spill was a movie review/geek centric podcast and social networking site owned by Hollywood.com. When Hollywood axed it and all the Spill hosts went on to other things, all of the content was archived and sealed away forever, mabye even deleted! It was all very topical focused anyway and Hollywood.com is never gunna do crap with any of it! There was no reason why they couldn't have just put it all out there! In many U.S. stores (don't know about other countries) if a product (non food of course as those have exp. dates) has been on the shelf for too long and just won't sell even after being marked down as low as it can be, the employees have to take it out back and literally smash it with sledgehammers! They've already resigned to the fact that it will never sell (therefore they will never get any money for it) and instead of you know, giving it away to someone who will actually use it they flat out destroy it! This is the problem with the Capitalist mentality! :(
Capitalism in itself is not a bad thing. It's good that companies like Sony and Microsoft are competing and each striving to make the best damn products they can! But when it's become so accepted to be so wasteful then I think we all need to take a good look in the mirror and dial it back. And to think, so many people still wonder why we have such a bad pollution problem! I believe that we all need more Socialism in our mentality if not necessarily our govermental system. Except for Medication and Education of course! Those are two things I personally believe should never be for-profit.
Huh. All that ranting because of the shutdown of an tickle infatuation website. ???
I know there are plenty of worse things than this going on in the world that are way more worth getting upset about but as you guys can see I am not happy about this. Like really, REALLY not happy and I needed to vent.
