Yeah, I saw it a couple of days ago and have been chatting it up with anyone else I know who's seen it. I really liked Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone as the lead and the school sequence I thought was well done as well. However...
Ugh, the lizard as the villain I did not like. Seemed like his sole motivation was 'my arrrmmmm' and then he became too much like the Green Goblin. What the hell with the scene during the credits?
I chuckled to myself when Emma Stone mentioned that she was 17 when I know that both she and Garfield are closer to 30 than they are to 17.
Anyhow, everything involving their relationship was done quite well which is to expected from the man responsible for 500 Days of Summer. I just wish it hadn't been such a rehash of the original movie because I want to see something new done. Many times I've found myself comparing reboots to what Christopher Nolan did with Batman and the difference between this one and Begins is massive mainly due to the director's vision of the film.
Asides from that, if they chose another director for the second movie, I wouldn't be upset. Would still give it three stars, bring on The Dark Knight Rises!
(P.S. I thought it was cool that The Illusive Man was Uncle Ben, Boris from Royal Pains was Richard Parker, and Jill from Royal Pains played the desk attendant at Oscorp)
