I've never been a big fan of Affleck as Batman, nor do I like Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman or Eisenberg as Luthor, even if it's not the Lex we know but rather his son. I have no issues with the actors themselves and I've enjoyed past work of theirs, but they were horribly miscast, in my opinion. Yes, I understand that Affleck has that grizzled, older look for the Batman they were looking for, but they could've gone with someone else that better fit the character, in my opinion. Gadot is too skinny and small for Wonder Woman. She hasn't bulked up enough to really pull the character off and give her that sense of strength that I know and that many people know I'm sure. And Eisenberg, while good with the snarky, cocky dickbag character, just isn't good for Luthor. We need someone more menacing, someone who can actually equal Superman in that department. I know that you've seen you didn't care for Cavill as Superman, Mike, and that's fine, but I actually like him. I think he was perfectly cast for the role and did the character justice, a bit of crappy writing aside.

As far as Suicide Squad, I don't know how I feel. I like Margot as Harley Quinn because she pulls off the character amazingly. Jared Leto looks great as the Joker, and I'm open to Smith being Deadshot. I'm all for him since, After Earth aside, Will Smith does a good job as an actor in a wide range of different character types. Even so, I doubt I'll see it. It doesn't really interest me and there are just too many characters involved. I feel the same for Batman v. Superman. I wanted a Superman II, not a bunch of random characters getting thrown together. It's just disappointing. And while I know Civil War is the same in some ways, Marvel has done an amazing job film after film in the MCU, so I'm more excited to see it.

To be honest I haven't actually seen it either. I was just turned off by the paticular reviews that I saw for it. Maybe I'll watch it one day, like it and take it off this thread.

I have seen Big Hero 6, and overall, I think How to Train Your Dragon 2 was a better movie and should have won the Best Animated Feature that year instead, but it seems that award might as well be renamed "The Disney/Pixar Award". I'm not kidding, there was an interview with an Academy Award voter who said there's really no point in not voting for a non-Disney movie in that category, it's a given that the Disney or Pixar movie with win by default.

But back to Big Hero 6, it's perfectly watchable. I don't think it warrants repeat viewing. Also, the Go-Go character that Jamie Chung voiced show have been bare bellied, but that would go against the whole "must be good role model for girls" hangup. Overall, the movie feels like a sells pitch to a TV network for a new Saturday morning series, and sure enough, the movie will now have a TV series spin-off on Disney X-D. Was the movie bad? No, but it could have been better.

I knew it was an unpopular opinion to have, so I used humor to try and diffuse it. It wasn't a horrible movie, because it did have some redeeming qualities(some of the characters, scenes and dialogue). I just found that at times, it dragged and got boring, so I'm not a huge fan is all. Be cool man, just be cool; We're all cool here.

It's cool bro. Just needed to get my rebuttal out. Reservoir Dogs doesn't usually get the love it deserves.

I'm not one to retroactively say that his past work is good, just because he's currently recovering from a personal tragedy. I see lots of websites claiming that Man of Sh*t, Yawn of Justice, and Sucker Punch aren't as bad as we think they are. No, sorry, it doesn't work that way. What's next, if Michael Bay has a death in the family, suddenly it will make all the Transformers movies good? It doesn't work that way. Both men know how to film cool looking action and visuals, but when it comes to coherent storytelling, not so much.

I keep hearing that Legend of the Guardians is a damn good animated film but I'm not sure how much creative control he had on it.
