Get ready to add Suicide Squad to this list. My security friend just finished working the screening. They didn't personally see it, but reaction from attendees was bad. Aparently its all over the place, has too many characters and no plot. Man dc can do no right. ???
I'm not surprised. Look at their casting decisions alone! Einsenberg as Luthor, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jai Country and Will Smith in Suicide Squad, etc. Yeah, they got Harley Quinn right by casting Margot Robbie, but for every Margot, they have Ben Affleck as a robot-voice, gorilla-like Batman.
And there's also the fact they are playing catch-up with Marvel, who is 12 movies ahead of them, so they are trying to cram 12 movies worth of new characters into two movies. It's like if Marvel started with Iron Man and then followed it up with Civil War without explaining who everyone is and how they relate to each other.
DC has no excuse for this. They have been owned by Warner Bros. since the '60s, and they have been making solo Superman and Batman movies for the past 40 years. Now that they are trying to jump on the shared universe bandwagon, they are seriously at risk for shooting themselves in the foot. Oh, and don't get me started with the TV and movies being "separate universes". Marvel movies and TV are not 100% linked because the movie and TV studios are two different divisions. WB wholly owns DC, so having two versions of the Flash at the same time is just plain stupid.
And to put the final nail in the coffin, here's some unflattering articles about BvS.
