Netflix is doing a Cowboy Bebop adaptation. And you guessed it, it's about as you'd expect from Netflix
Your crew ladies and gents!
So stunning. So brave....
At least the meme was correct
Well, we all knew that in the year 2021, they weren't going to have the Faye Valentine actress running around with her bellybutton showing, and her shorts hanging off of her hips. What do you think this is, 2001? But hey, I got you covered, because here it is.
Yep, tragic if you're a lover of soft tummies and deep innies.
Jet Black, eh, close enough. I mean the anime character is black, so it's not like they race bent him or anything. Plus, the actor worked on Luke Cage a few years back, and like most networks, Netflix loves to recycle whenever they can.
And as for John Cho, that's part of the whole #starringjohncho trend from Twitter. Except that was like four or five years ago. I mean, he looks the part in the hair and costume, but Spike's last name is Spiegel, and Cho most definitely isn't Jewish (his father was literally a minister).
But yeah, it's Cowboy Bebop, an iconic anime, so you knew any adaption from Hollywood wouldn't be good. After all, the only two semi good anime adaptions from Hollywood are Alita: Battle Angel and ... if you consider it a homage to Neon Genesis Evangelion ... Pacific Rim.
