If the Tolkien Estate really wants more works produced they'd sell the damn rights to the rest of Tolkien's works instead of just having people retread The Hobbit and LOTR ad nauseum. ::)
If you look back at what happened with the movie, the Tolkien Estate got the shaft. The six movies made well over a billion dollars combined, but the Estate only made a few thousand grand from the deal! Personally, I think it would be better if Amazon were to reach into more the spin-off and extended universe of Middle Earth, rather than just remake the movies. Let's face it, they won't be able to top the movie series with a streaming service/television budget.
