You should check it out, it's fantastic. Think of Twin Peaks as part crime drama, part supernatural drama, part sitcom, and part daytime soap opera. If it sounds weird, that's because it is, but there's really been nothing quite like it before or after. It's equal parts tongue-in-cheek and dead-serious, equal parts hammy/campy acting and award-worthy performances, and equal parts down-to-earth mystery and mind-bending bizarre imagery. Combined with a pacing not unlike Lost in its good days, Twin Peaks is a show that keeps you coming back episode after episode. While its heavily serialized format ultimately contributed to its cancelation after two seasons (back in the 90's, if you missed one week you pretty much had to wait until it aired in reruns), but with the success of dramas like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and House of Cards, and the binge-friendly format of streaming services like Netflix, Twin Peaks is ripe for a return to prominence. I'd highly recommend it for any fan of Stranger Things, The X-Files, nanar (the French term for something that's "so bad it's good"), and avant-garde film.
P.S. - Seeing as this is the Belly Inc. forum and all, I should point out that Twin Peaks has basically nothing topical in it, but I'll be damned if Sherilyn Fenn, Mädchen Amick, Joan Chen and Heather Graham don't all look stunningly, distractingly gorgeous despite being completely covered up most of the time. They pull off "sexy" without ever having to resort to gratuitous skin-baring, and even though we're all certainly fans of a beautiful bare midriff, the fact that these women in this show can exude sex appeal with their facial expressions alone is endlessly intriguing.
TL;DR - No belly scenes, but this show has some incredibly hot ladies.
