Ha awesome, loved her in Angel, loving her on Person of Interest, she'll be great in Shield, even if it's only a brief appearance. She's an extremely underrated actress, I think. She was able to successfully play three wildly different characters, two of which were in the same show. Woman's got some serious acting chops.
Whedon shows do generally take a while to really get going, I think, but he and his writers have a knack for hiding all sorts of extremely important stuff in that slow buildup. Firefly was going the same route, he said the revelation of Miranda and the Reavers from the movie would've been brought up at the end of the second season, had it not been cancelled. Buffy was that way, too. Hell, looking back, I really don't know how I stuck through the campy first season or so lol, but was worth it in the long run.
