Wow.
I really would love to know why you both love that movie so much, I'm actually very interested.
I walked out of the theater angry after watching the avengers.
Um, because it was a perfect translation of an Avengers comic book into a live action movie. It had the right amount of drama and comedy, there was something for every sci-fi/fantasy fan (mecha suits, pulp heroes, monsters, mythological gods, spies, magic items, aliens, etc.) everyone had their moment to shine, the action and special effects were awesome, and it was the best summer blockbuster since the days of Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
You make it sound cool, and I actually like most of the movie up until the alien part. There were these huge worms things, the things I was looking forward to for the whole movie because then the heroes would have a challenge.
And what happens? Hulk kills it in one punch.
If you know about hulk you know how little that makes sense, he gets stronger the angrier he gets - and when he was turning into the hulk he barely seemed annoyed.
It would have been far better if there was something super powerful kicking his ass, then maybe some innocent people are in danger or one of the avengers and then he gets angrier and beats the thing up - at least then there would be some tension in the battle for a change.
