I'm a Photog -- Testing the Waters

Hello all,

I am a photographer and I have been kicking around the idea of producing belly-related content since we seem to be a group that isn't as directly catered to as some others. I have everything I need to produce some really nice stuff gear-wise, but would likely need to finance models. I wouldn't feel right having someone sign a release for this sort of thing without 1) being up front about what it's for, and 2) compensating them.

Here are my questions to you folks:

Price. Do you think it's fair to charge for this? If so, how much would you be willing to pay?

Note: My initial thought was to release it all for free with the option to donate, taking it on faith that you wouldn't let me cut a loss. I feel that places like clips4sale way overcharge given the length and inconsistent quality of their clips.

Content. What would you want to see? I can do all kinds of lighting, I can do extreme closeups. I can even do some video--but that would likely come later. Would you want the option to make requests? If so, what do you think a fair price per request is?

This would be taking time out of my life and work, so before I move forward with the idea, I'd just like to know if there is sufficient interest and if I'll be left out to dry while everyone takes advantage of my free content.

Well, I think you should have a few free photos and if we want the full set, charge anywhere between $5-20, depending on how many photos are in the set. As for content, yes plenty of extreme close-ups. But maybe you'll charge extra if anyone has specific requests. Welcome to the forum, by the way. It's great to have you here.

My goal would be to produce as much free content as possible. A lot of people seem to cut themselves off from the community through unrealistic pay walls. Bbparadise comes to mind. I'd just like to avoid going into the hole over this.
