I remember reading somewhere that everyone's belly button was as unique as our fingerprints. I also remember a ad on TV where a woman gets a photo ID card with a picture of her bare belly and navel printed on it instead of her face that I still can't find a video for (check out the TV commercial section for details on that). Both of these things gave me a really cool idea.
In the future, we would have belly button scanners to get into high security or private locations. A sexy automated synthetic female voice would say "identify, for navel scan," just like the retinal scanners in the beginning of the original Half Life. You would either lift up your shirt, or the tech would have conveniently made navel baring fashion practical. As an added bonus, female subjects would feel a pleasant tickling sensation during the scanning process.
I'm well aware aware of how ridiculous and impractical this would be as well as the complications of making the tickling affect only women but I just though it was a fun idea. I will probably incorporate it into the sci fi erotic fetish story I'm writing if I ever get past page 1.
