See, celebrities live and die based on their public image. For example: Tom Cruise. A decade ago, he had his public image as the coolest guy on the planet and someone you'd love to hang out with because he's so likeable. But then the whole jumping on the couch thing happened, and him proclaiming his devotion to a religion based around aliens, and his anti-medication stance, etc. Now he's seen as some crazy man and his movies all bomb at the box office, except for "Mission: Impossible" flicks.
Likewise, Jennifer Lawrence's public image is that she's America's Sweetheart. Yes, she's hot as hell, but she has some innocence to her, and she seems fun to hang out with, so that makes both boys and girl just want to be her best friend. And she's also suppose to be this role model for girls to live up to. There's that Hollywood double standard where "respected" actresses are suppose to not do nude scenes, because that's using your sex appeal to get ahead in your career, rather than getting by on your acting ability alone. Yet when male actors do nudity, it's not big deal, or in some cases, they get praise for being so "daring or bold".
However, that wholesome image that Jennifer had fell apart once it's revealed that she takes pictures of herself in the nude, for the viewing pleasure of whomever those pictures were intended for. But unlike Tom Cruise, her movie career won't suffer because of this, mostly because she's attached to beloved franchises like "Hunger Games" and "X-Men". At least Becca Tobin, the least famous of all the actresses who were leaked, had a sense of humor about all of this. She simply posted "Merry XXXmas" on her Twitter.
