Movies:
#1. Bring It On. If I didn't know better, I would say it was a movie made for us, by one of us. It also helps that it was made back in 2000, when bellybutton baring was fully embraced by the fashion world. Except for maybe two scenes, there is a naked navel on screen for every second of this movie. And what a selection: innies, outies, inbetweenies, blondes, brunettes, red heads, Asians, black girls, bikinis, cheerleader outfits, cropped tops, sports bras, underwear, etc. That and it spawned 4 sequels and a Broadway musical, so it has the biggest legacy.
#2. Blue Crush. My favorite sport is women's beach volleyball, mostly because it's a quick and simple game to follow, and it features amazon women in bikinis, running around and getting all sweaty. Surfing would probably be the next best sport, if only for bikinis, as proven by this movie. There's innies, outies, blondes, Latinas, Hawaiian girls, and even more bare belly scenes in the extras for the DVD. It also spawned a straight to DVD sequel, but it couldn't top this one.
#3. Bitch Slap. A shameless cash-in on the movie Grindhouse, this flick is just one perverted sex joke and image after another. And that includes its three female leads showing their bellybuttons throughout the movie. Once again, a great selection of blondes, red heads, brunettes, Asians, and Latinas. And it introduced the world to Julia Voth, the model whom Resident Evil's Jill Valentine was based on. And she also happen to own the biggest outie of any actress in the history of the movie industry!
Honorable mentions:
Ultraviolet. Milla Jovovich's bellybutton is pretty much a co-star in this movie. This was back when she had an inbetweenie/shallow innie. After giving birth since then, she's now a full outie.
1 Million Years BC. Raquel Welch in her prime, and in a bikini for the entire movie. The highlight being when she gets in a cat fight with a brunette from another tribe. Two beautiful women with outie bellybuttons, getting all dirty and sweaty, with their stomachs rising and falling ... what's not to love?
Movie Scenes:
#1. The olive in the bellybutton from Hot Shots. This has a special place in my heart, since the movie came out when I became a teenager and my bellybutton fetish became more sexual. My mind was blown when I saw the trailer in theaters; I was amazed that a movie would be made with a scene that centered around the female bellybutton, even if it was a parody of 9 and 1/2 Weeks. Needless to say, I've watched this scene a million times on TV and DVD.
#2. The diamond in Halle Berry's bellybutton from Die Another Day. Miss Berry has gone on the record saying she is one of us (a "bellybutton girl", in her own words), so I wouldn't be surprised if she was the one who suggested this scene. While it's very blink and you miss it, it's just cool that it exists.
#3. Diana Lane gets her bellybutton fingered in Unfaithful. I couldn't care less about the rest of the movie, but it was awesome to see Miss Lane's bare stomach quivering as her lover's finger traced circles in and around her bellybutton. The movie was remade by Bollywood as the film, Murder, and the scene is just as good with Mallika Sherawat in Lane's place.
Honorable mentions: Alicia Witt gets her bellybutton licked on Ally McBeal. Okay, so technically, that a scene from a TV series, but it's one I'll never forget. I had a crush on Miss Witt (actually, I still do), since I carry a torch for fair skinned red heads. So seeing this scene with her in it blew my mind.
Scourge. By no means a perfect movie, but it did one thing: it righted the wrong that The Matrix had. You know the scene. Seriously, they couldn't have done that with Trinity instead? Anyway, we get not one, but two good scenes, one with the monster entering a blonde's bellybutton, and one with it only threatening to enter a brunette's bellybutton. Ideally, the monster would have gone with female hosts only, and we would have seen every transfer, but we need to take what we can.
