I know I probably sound crazy for saying this, but I'm honestly sick of commercials like those.
Really? Why? Granted, they are all the same in many ways, ie a bikini clad woman who is sweating or covered in oil, eating a burger that probably never looks that good in person. But hey, it's an easy way to see bellybuttons.
Because in my mind, commercials or ads like these are basically relying on sex to sell, which sends a bad message in its own right, but they also have a negative effect on navels and navel exposure. The common belief nowadays is that exposing the bellybutton anywhere that isn't the beach is considered trashy, and I feel ads like these are kind of fueling the fire for that type of thinking. I could be wrong, of course, and I make no claims that I'm not wrong, it's just how I look at it. I sometimes wish I had been born a little sooner so that I could've grown up when navel exposure was considered hot rather than not. But that's off topic; I'm fine with navel exposure in commercials, I just think they could be done more tastefully, you know? :P
