Warning: mini rant ahead.
This video is a little infuriating, to me at least. Yes, seeing a girl bringing attention to her bellybutton is nice at all, but it's what's being said annoys me. First off, her English isn't that good, and her accent is far from sexy, my opinion. Secondly, the way they talk about her outie is off-putting. The way that she says she doesn't like it. Yes, our society programs us to hate outies, no matter how small or protruding they may or may not be. Her's looks like a small marble, hardly anything to complain about. It's not like it's the size of a walnut like Madonna's or sticks out like a tube like Kelly Ripa's. And considering that most models these days, especially the very successful ones like Karlie Kloss and Gigi Hadid have various degrees of outies and inbetweenies, there's no shame in having an outie these days, my opinion.
Thirdly, it still amazes me that people think the way the doctor cuts your umbilical cords effects what your bellybutton will eventually look like. It reminds me of the time British glamour model Jordan was getting her outie operated on and she claimed it was the result of her having a whooping cough as a small child. No one knows how outies are formed, it's just the luck of the draw how the skin heals and other factors like the amount of fat and muscle in the stomach area. Fourthly, the "this is the weirdest conversation" remark really got to me. This is just further proof that our fetish isn't understood at all. To society at large, bellybuttons are just a hole or piece of flesh in the middle of the stomach and nothing more. It's not wonder women on the Internet flee when navel fetishists ask about their bellybuttons as objects of sexual attraction, and this was a harsh reminder of that.
But hey, maybe this is just me reading WAY into a few seconds of video footage. Sorry for any negative vibes I might be giving off.
