Having watched tons of Castle, I can say that's very much her character (Stana Katic, beyond being insanely gorgeous, is a severely underrated and committed actress). She's a very professional detective, and only in the recent couple seasons has she started to get more laid back. Pretty sure that was fairly early in the show, too.
