Saw Civil War the other night. Awesome movie. I do feel it had some flaws, but it had a lot of good going for it, too. Shall list them, and they are all just my opinion.
Also, some spoilers. Just saying.
Pros
- Black Panther. His introduction was great, he was badass, and we got just the right amount of back story for him. Pumped for his solo film.
- Spider-Man. Again, great introduction, and he was funny. I love this Spider-Man and I feel he's a step in the right direction for the character.
- The action. Amazing action sequences, with everyone getting ample screen time. I only wish War Machine had gotten a few more moments, but other than that, awesome all around.
- Making Tony a sympathetic 'antagonist.' I could tell how worn down and sad he really was, and that he was deeply regretful for his actions. I also feel like I felt for him in the end fight scene despite being in the wrong. It was all emotions, and I get that.
- The humor. Lots of funny moments, which was great.
- Ant-Man's inclusion. He was fun all around, and he definitely added a lot of lightheartedness, like Spidey did (and Sam, too).
- Glad to see more characterization for Agent 13, Falcon, Vision, and Wanda. Just wish Sharon had more screen time. Hope to see more of her in the future.
Cons
- No Pepper Potts. I read somewhere she was going to be in it, but she wasn't, and I would've liked to see her relationship with Tony and why things went south. However, given that it's not an Iron Man film, I get it. Maybe in the future.
- The suddenness of Sharon and Steve's kiss. Just felt out of nowhere, even though it was funny seeing Bucky and Sam nodding and smiling. Wanted more build up to it.
- The killing of the other Winter Soldiers. I get it, but lost potential, man.
Otherwise, all around good movie. Better than Captain America 1, and just about equal to Captain America 2, for me.
