So, the movie got a release date: July 17, 2015.

Oh, and Ben Affeck will play the new Batman. Yes, the man who played DareDevil, and played George Reeves as Superman, and shared the Oscar stage earlier this year with George Clooney, aka the worst Batman ever, will now be the goddamn Batman! :-X

I am a bit if not fully, shocked at the news. I am not sure what shocks me more, the title of the film or Ben Affeck playing as batman. This news makes me a sad panda tbh!

Yeah, isn't it good to know that Warner Bros has a sense of humor? I guess they never did learn their lesson about stunt casting from the Tim Burton Batman series. I think they only hired Affeck because #1. It would start a sh*tstorm on the Internet (which it did), and #2. They were considering having him direct a Justice League movie, but his contract says he will only direct movies that he also stars in. Still, they should have gone with Karl Urban, my opinion.

I'd rather they stuck with Christian Bale. Ben Affleck. Psh. I mean, the guy's okay, sure, and I liked him as Daredevil...but BATMAN?! No. Just no.

Christian Bale already said he won't do it unless Christopher Nolan is in the director's chair, and Nolan has said he's not interested in any more Batman movies. Which is fine, I think, his trilogy ended with a satisfying conclusion.

I'm conflicted about Affleck, the guy is a more than capable actor, I just don't know if he can pull off the brooding-without-being-emo aspect of Batman. I think they kind of painted themselves into a corner by announcing the movie before they cast such an important role, they shouldn't have rushed to announce it just to get behind the Avengers bandwagon.

Amazing how quickly your mind will change when offered millions of dollars and an iconic role to play.

Personally, I'd rather see a Wonder Woman movie, starring Olivia Wilde, Kate Backinsale, or Morena Baccarin. It find it funny that Quicksilver will be in two different franchise movies before the Flash will have his own solo movie. Not to mention Supergirl and Elektra have appeared in their own movies first, and Black Widow will be in four movies before Wonder Woman gets her own solo movie. DC is so clueless.

That's fine if it's a B-list character like Black Widow or Hawkeye and they are shoehorned into an A-lister's movie because no one will pay to see their own solo movie. But this is Batman we're talking about. He's DC's golden egg laying goose in every form of media they put him in. They probably just thought "Superman didn't do well on his own ... throw Batman into the movie!". Wonder Woman is one of their Big Three characters, she should have her own solo movie. I'm sick of DC making the excuse "she's too tricky to have a movie for". Meanwhile, Marvel is making a space opera movie that features a walking, talking tree that can only say "I am Groot", and a raccoon with a machine gun who speaks with a British accent!

I very much enjoyed the corny cheesy Supergirl movie made in the 80s. I was wondering if they're going to be making a Supergirl movie and it sounds like they're going to be doing that yet. Disappointed. But really, who were her enemies? I can't think of any. She's more of a sidekick to Superman, one who comes in when he can't do anything himself. And I don't know if they're going to be making a Flash movie, I don't think, but I very much enjoyed the 90s tv show that lasted for a season with John Wesley Shipp.

They should've made a Wonder Woman picture when Catherine Zeta-Jones was still relevant, like right after she was in Zorro. What next? Someone wanting an Aquaman movie? The pilot that spun-off from Smallville didn't succeed.

Honestly, if this crossover was done 20 years ago, I might have cared. These days, I don't have much confidence in DC's movies after the triple train wrecks of Green Lantern, Dark Knight Rises, and Man of Steel. Here's the closest thing we'll have to a World's Finest movie, in my opinion.

I never quite understood the amount of hate Dark Knight Rises got. Maybe it didn't quite live up to the previous one, but I still found it to be an incredibly enjoyable movie.

It's a good movie, to a certain degree. After Bane breaks his back, the movie went downhill from there with their flaws in logic. Like how is it Bruce Wayne is able to return to Gotham when he has no money, is left in the middle of a desert, and airplanes are cutoff from Gotham? Stuff like that. Plus, it was never going to live up tot he hype of "Dark Knight", so it was doomed to fail. As for "Man of Steel", they totally got the character wrong, they stole visuals from a half dozen other movies, and it had logic fails, too. Like why is Superman going to a random priest to get advice about fighting Zod when he has the program of his father to talk to instead? DC really needs to change their creative team and get Paul Dini and Bruce Timm to do their movies like how they did their animation.

I figured it was basically the same way he got around at the start of Batman Begins when everyone thought he was dead. How he actually got back into Gotham itself was a little weird, I'll give you that, but it didn't bother me too much. Granted, much as I loved The Dark Knight, I didn't think it quite deserved the godlike pedestal a lot of people kept putting it on, and I went into Rises not expecting it to be better than its predecessor, so maybe that's why it didn't bother me as much.

Haven't seen Man of Steel, so can't really comment on that.

I personally had no problem with the Dark Knight movies. I loved all of them and thought they were all fantastic, with each following one being better than the next. Rises was awesome and I really liked Bane as a villain.

As for Man of Steel, it was okay. I liked Zod as a villain and I LOVED Faora, who should have been the main antagonist because she was hot and vicious and so utterly badass, she deserved to have much more screen time. I think what I disliked about Man of Steel was how often the scenes jumped around. I get that they didn't want to do another origin story like with Batman, but seriously, it bothered me how they jumped around so often, without any real transitions.

I just think that with DC, their legacy is too big for their own good. Marvel's heroes didn't come around until the 60s, so DC had a good 20-30 years to establish Superman and Batman before then. The fanbases for those two characters has become so ridiculous, that some DC fans treat them more like family members than fiction characters. That's why there's such overwhelming positive or negative reactions to the movies.

As for why fan worship "Dark Knight", they were just glad they got a great Batman movie after nearly a decade of suffering from "Batman & Robin". Although that doesn't let DC off the hook for Steel, Jonah Hex, Green Lantern, Catwoman and any Superman movie not directed by Richard Donner!

These fan trailers are hitting their peeks in terms of quality and production. After watching these, I wanted more. Thanks for posting these Mike. Hopefully DC comics will work hard on the outfit for us. :'(
