Sorry to all Spears lovers, but she gets way too much credit for the whole bare belly trend. Christina Aguliera, Mariah Carey, Shania Twain, Gwen from No Doubt, and the girls of TLC and the Spice Girls were all doing the bare belly thing at the same time. The trend wasn't popular just because one singer was doing it; it was because many singers and actresses were doing it.

I kinda agree with you around this. Although I do remember watching her on some performance around 1999/2000 and thinking "her belly is so sexy" hadn't really appreciated that belly as much before then so she has influenced my love for it. I agree tho that loads of people were doing it at the same time, the belly baring thing that is, Gwen from no doubt is one that surprised me in that she is a bit underrated on here as was a constant belly barer.

Oh and Victoria Justice has as much body art as a Britney I believe, she's got a tat on rip cage now :(
